The Merlion
Singapore’s emblem (though not quite officially, it seems) is the merlion. And yes, even though it is the stupidest thing you have ever heard, this is a being with the body of a mermaid and the head of a lion. Seriously, who comes up with this sort of stuff? If you want to see it, visit Singapore and go to the Merlion park opposite the Esplanade or see the even more gigantic sibling on Sentosa. Beautiful.
